How many balls do I need to fill a room or space?

A room fill turns an office, studio, living room, venue, exhibition space or your own pit into a ball pit — no inflatable needed. Start with the calculator below, then get a full price in our Instant Estimate calculator.

How many ball pit balls do I need?

Enter the depth of the balls — not the room’s ceiling height. Most room fills sit between 30cm and 60cm.

How the estimate works

Our 75mm balls pack at roughly 2,900 per cubic metre in an empty, unobstructed space. Furniture, steps, radiators and unusual room shapes all reduce the number you need — and the right operating depth matters more than filling to the ceiling. We confirm the recommended quantity with you before you book, so you never pay for balls you don’t need.

How are the balls contained, delivered and collected?

Most rooms need simple containment at doorways — we’ll advise what works for your space. We deliver and collect using our own vehicles from our base in Kent, or you can collect and return a balls-only hire yourself by prior arrangement, which can bring the cost down. Setup time depends on volume and access: a ground-floor room with clear access is quick; stairs and long corridors take longer.

What can be filled?

  • Offices and workplace events
  • Home events and private parties
  • Television, film and photography sets
  • Brand activations and product launches
  • Exhibition spaces, nightclubs and customer-owned pits

Choose how much help you want

Balls-only hire — you collect or we deliver, and you manage the setup with our guidance. Delivery and collection — we transport everything to and from your venue. Complete installation — we deliver, help install and return to clear everything away. Fully staffed — we add experienced event staff for light-touch supervision throughout.

Is a room fill right for you?

Honestly, not always. If the room has lots of fixed furniture, difficult access, or you need it back in normal use quickly, a standard inflatable pit is often more practical — compare options on our Ball Pits & Sizes page. If you’re unsure, send us photos of the space and we’ll give you a straight answer.
