Frequently Asked Questions
Prices and booking
-
Most of our ball pit hires start from around £700. Smaller local or balls-only bookings may occasionally cost less, while large room fills, bespoke installations and fully staffed events will cost more. The final price depends on the pit size, number and colour of balls, delivery location, venue access, hire duration and whether staff are required. Every quotation is tailored to the event, so you only pay for the equipment and support you need. We are not VAT registered, so there is no VAT to add. Want a price right now? Use our Instant Estimate calculator for an itemised price in about two minutes.

Yes. Our standard hire includes either a colourful rainbow mix or clear balls. For an additional charge, we can also provide single-colour balls or create a bespoke colour combination to suit your event, wedding theme or brand. Available colours include red, blue, yellow, green, purple, orange, silver, pearl, aqua, clear, pink, black, gold, chocolate and a range of pastel shades. The cost and availability depend on the number of balls required. If you have a particular colour scheme in mind, send it to us with your enquiry and we’ll recommend the closest available combination.
-
Yes. We can arrange delivery and collection as part of your quotation, or you can collect and return the balls from our base in Kent by prior arrangement. Balls take up a surprising amount of space, so we’ll explain how they are packed and help you determine the type and size of vehicle required before collection. Collecting the balls yourself can help reduce the overall hire cost.
Cleanliness and safety
-
Yes. We take hygiene seriously and use a purpose-built ball-cleaning machine together with a non-toxic cleaning solution. This allows us to thoroughly clean large quantities of balls and ensure they arrive at your event clean and ready to use.
-
Health and safety is carefully considered for every hire. Ball Pit Hire carries public liability insurance, and we provide a risk assessment and clear operating guidance for the equipment supplied. Our electrical equipment is regularly tested, and the installation is inspected before use. The appropriate setup will depend on factors such as the venue, expected number and age of guests, access arrangements and whether you require our staff to supervise the attraction. We’ll discuss these details with you before the event and explain any supervision, capacity or operating requirements. Copies of our insurance and relevant safety documentation are available on request.
-
Yes, a ball pit requires light-touch supervision whenever it is open, but this does not normally require specialist staff. Supervisors mainly manage guest numbers, encourage safe behaviour and assist anyone who needs help. For most events, we recommend two responsible adults. You can use members of your own team - we’ll provide clear operating guidance - or we can include experienced event staff in your quotation if you would prefer us to manage everything.
-
Our ball pits can be enjoyed by adults and children, but our current inflatable pits are generally most suitable for children aged three and above. The high sides and depth can make some pits difficult for toddlers to enter and exit safely. Tell us the ages of your guests when enquiring and we’ll recommend the most suitable setup. Children must remain appropriately supervised whenever the ball pit is in use.
Choosing your setup
-
We specialise in large-scale ball pit experiences, with some of the UK’s largest mobile ball pits and more than 500,000 balls in a huge range of colours. We can provide balls only, an inflatable pit or a complete staffed installation. Our experienced events team can advise on pit size, colours, venue access, staffing and safety. We can also create bespoke inflatable pits for unusual venues, brand activations and creative event briefs. We’re fully insured, our electrical equipment is regularly tested, and every setup is planned around your venue, guests and event.
-
You don’t need to work this out yourself. Tell us about your event, guest numbers and ages, available space, preferred colours and whether the installation will be indoors or outdoors. We’ll then recommend the most suitable pit and quantity of balls. For room fills and customer-owned pits, our 75mm balls require approximately 2,900 balls per cubic metre. Send us the internal length, width and desired ball depth, and we can calculate an approximate quantity for you. You can also use the pit selector on our Ball Pits and Sizes page or the room-fill calculator on our Room Fills page.
-
Each ball is 75mm in diameter. Approximately 2,900 balls are required per cubic metre. The balls are accredited for commercial play and certified to ISO10093, EN71-1, EN71-2, EN71-3.
-
Yes. We offer balls-only hire for offices, studios, spare rooms, exhibition spaces, brand activations and other suitable venues - no inflatable pit required. Tell us the room’s length, width and the approximate depth you would like to fill, and we can estimate how many balls you will need. We’ll also advise on containment, venue access, setup and how to use the space safely. Send us the room dimensions, venue postcode and a few photographs if possible. Our initial advice is free and there is no obligation to book.
-
Yes. We offer balls-only hire for suitable customer-owned pits. Send us the pit’s internal dimensions and the depth you would like to fill, and we’ll help calculate approximately how many balls you need. We can arrange delivery and collection using a dedicated vehicle, or you can collect and return the balls from our base in Kent by prior arrangement. Please include your event dates, venue postcode and access details when requesting a quotation.
-
Yes. You don’t need any previous experience to run one of our ball pits. Every self-managed hire comes with a clear, step-by-step guide covering setup, safe operation, light-touch supervision and pack-down. We’ll explain the requirements before your event and answer any questions, so your team knows exactly what to do. If you would prefer us to manage everything, experienced event staff can also be added to your quotation.
Delivery and the day
-
We deliver ball pits and balls throughout the UK from our base in Kent. We can also consider European events, although international transportation can add significantly to the cost. Transport is quoted according to the delivery location, equipment required, vehicle size, access arrangements and collection times. Balls-only hires can also be collected and returned from our Kent base by prior arrangement.
-
Some of our ball pits can be installed outdoors, provided the location and weather conditions allow them to be operated safely. We’ll need to consider the ground surface, available space, anchoring points, access to power and the weather forecast. Outdoor bookings should also have a wet-weather alternative wherever possible, as strong winds, heavy rain or unsuitable ground conditions may prevent safe use. Tell us about the outdoor space when enquiring.
-
The time required depends on the pit size, number of balls and venue access. A straightforward ground-floor installation will be considerably quicker than an upstairs venue, a long loading route or a large room fill. Once we know the equipment, venue and access arrangements, we’ll agree a realistic installation and collection schedule with you. Clear vehicle access and an unobstructed installation area will help everything run efficiently.
